Ajith Kumar may replace Vijay as CSK Brand Ambassador



Chennai Super Kings happens to be one [^] and only team that don’t have a strong support from its brand ambassadors. When Aamir Khan hadn’t got to do anything with Mumbai Indians, he was present there for at least couple of matches. Even when Katrina Kaif couldn’t make it possible for the Bangalore Royal Challengers, Vijay Malaya is present very much for the game that adds more sensation.

But in case of Chennai Super Kings, not many know about the owners and brand ambassadors Vijay and Nayanthara have proved to be lethargic on promoting their team. Now, the owners seem to be planning for a different brand ambassador. Recently, Trisha was invited for the game of Super Kings that was held in Chennai and she was standing near the boundary till the last moment.

Now with Ajith Kumar making high time with his vigorous involvement in sports, the owners of CSK may opt for him from next season. On pars, Madhavan has been showing keen interest on becoming brand ambassador for Chennai Super Kings and of course, he’s worth getting it as the actor has gained more popularity across all arenas.

According to the sources, the audio launch of Manirathnam’s ‘Raavana’ will be held during the mid-week of ‘Raavana’ in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.

With the plans made by Manirathnam to release the film [^] on June 18 all over the World, it would be an apt time to launch the audio prior to couple of months before theatrical release.

Apart from these three [^] different versions of 'Raavana', A.R. Rahman's Telugu album 'Puli' is also expected to have its audio launch during same month. On the roll, it's going to be a thundering Rahamania for this season.

Simbu dubs for Abhishek Bachchan in Ravan

There were reports that Mani Ratnam [^] has roped in Silambarasan [^] for his forthcoming film and the actor called on the ace director to discuss the project. While one [^] part of the news [^] is true, the other part seems to be the product of a guessing game [^].

If sources are to be believed, Silambarasan recently met Mani, not to discuss any future project, but to dub for Abhishek Bachchan [^] in ‘Raavan’, the filmmaker’s magnum opus. “Since Mani found Silambarasan’s voice apt for Abhishek, he requested the actor to dub for the Junior Bachchan, for which the latter responded positively,” sources say.

This is not the first time [^] for Silambarasan to dub for another actor. He was the one who gave voice for the protagonist of ‘Slumdog Millionaire’, when the Oscar-winning Danny Boyle [^] film was dubbed in Tamil as ‘Nanum Kotteeswaran’.

An actor by profession, Silambarasan is also a director and singer. Fresh from the success of ‘Vinnaithandi Varuvaya’, he is currently busy with the works of ‘Vaaliban’, his directorial venture in which he also plays the lead role.

I had to say yes, since he is such a well brought up person with nice values.” Visiting temples might not be Simbu’s favourite pastime, but he has apparently taken Anushka to an Amman temple in Kalakshetra colony in Besant Nagar to show his commitment towards marriage.

Although the couple believes in keeping it simple, the wedding is set to be a glitzy affair with some of the couple’s closest star pals in attendance.

Simbu is planning to get his clothes done by Sidney Sladen, while Anushka is still on the lookout for a designer.

Simbu who proposed to Anushka during a long drive, presented her with a solitaire ring from Tiffany’s.

Managing to surprise his close friends, Simbu told his dear ones about the marriage during a night out at a city bar . After marriage the couple plans to set up home in Chennai and plan to initiate their own production house.

President honours AR Rahman Padma Awards 2010

President Pratibha Patil presents the Padma Bhushan award to music composer A.R. Rahman during the presentation of the Padma Awards 2010 at the Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi.

Music maestro A R Rahman and Aamir Khan were among 21 distinguished persons who were honoured with Padma Bhushan by President Pratibha Patil at a ceremony in the Ashoka Hall at the Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi Wednesday.

Union Minister for Textiles Dhayanidhi Maran and Union Minister for Renewable Energy Farooq Abdullah were among the early birds who greeted Rahman and Aamir for the honour and posed together for photographs.

Rahman, clad in white attire, was all smiles when he received the award from the first citizen of the country. Equally thrilled was Aamir Khan, who as a straight contrast to the music maestro, was seen in black costume.

Nobel laureate Indian-origin scientist Venkatraman Ramakrishnan and noted theatre personality Ebrahim Alkazi were conferred the Padma Vibhushan, while classical vocalist Pandit Channulal was honoured with Padma Bhushan.

Telugu director and actor J D Chakravarthy while speaking to the media said,” In Tamil I had acted in Kannathil Mutthamittal and Sarvam, because an image was created that I will be acting in such type films only.


In Kacheri Arambam I got a different kind of role. It was also a challenging one. So far I have acted in 50 films in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi and Malayalam languages, I have also directed 2 Hindi and Telugu films respectively. I am interested to act in Tamil films. If I get a chance I will direct a straight Tamil film.”

Nayanthara is upset over rumors


Nayanthara is currently pairing with Arya in the film Boss Engira Bhaskaran and also in Telugu film with Balakrishna. She is also acting currently in an untitled Malayalam film.


There are lot of rumors these days about Nayanthara and Prabhu Deva. Nayanthara who is currently in Hyderabad while speaking to the media said,” I came to cinema in 2003.


At that time I did not have any big aim. I thought of quitting films after acting in a film. But time has made me an eternal actress. Name and fame flooded me. I will be happy if my film is a hit and sad if it is a flop. But for time being a situation has never risen to make me sad.


The Tamil film Aadhavan, Malayalam film Body Guard and Telugu film Adurs in which I have done the female lead role were great hits.


What else can give me that much happiness. People who meet me ask that Meena and Navya Nair has got married, when will be my marriage. I don’t have the answer for this question. Marriage is an important thing in one’s life. It will not happen when we wish. It will happen when the time comes.


I will not oppose marriae love and at the same time I am not against the marriage arranged by parents. In case if my marriage will be a love marriage.
