Los Angeles, Jan 25 (DPA) Sci-fi epic 'Avatar' was set to break a record of 'Titanic' proportions Monday.
The 3-D movie extravaganza was on the brink of passing the $1.843 billion earned by 'Titanic' at the box office in 1997 to become the highest grossing film of all time, according to figures released by Twentieth Century Fox.
'Avatar' had earned $1.841 billion by the close of the weekend, enabling it to top the record books for box office takings outside the US. Assuming that it breaks the global record Monday, it will have taken just six weeks to surpass a record that it took 'Titanic' some 10 months to achieve.
The milestone will also cement the place of James Cameron, who produced, directed and wrote both 'Titanic' and 'Avatar', as the most successful moviemaker of all time.
Though 'Titanic' holds the box office record and boasts a record 11 Oscar wins, 'Avatar' looks unlikely to challenge the Oscar milestone. The movie, which uses modern 3-D technology, has notched awards for best drama and best director at the Golden Globe awards.
But it has performed poorly at other awards ceremonies, most notably at the Screen Actors Guild and Producers Guild awards this weekend where it was shut out of major honours by voting members who form a key constituency in Oscar voting.

Thou art the ruler of the minds of all people,
Dispenser of India's destiny.
Thy name rouses the hearts of Punjab, Sind,
Gujarat and Maratha,
Of the Dravida and Orissa and Bengal;
It echoes in the hills of the Vindhyas and Himalayas,
mingles in themusic of Jamuna and Ganges and is
chanted by the waves of the Indian Sea.
They pray for thy blessings and sing thy praise.
The saving of all people waits in thy hand,
Thou dispenser of India's destiny.
Victory, victory, victory to thee.

History Of Republic Day

It was 26th January 1950 one of the most important day in the Indian history as it was on this day when India became a truly sovereign state and the constitution of India came into force. Although India gained independence from the British rule on 15th August 1947 - an occasion marked with the Independence Day celebrations every year whereas the establishment of the Republic actually has its roots in the Lahore Session of the Indian National Congress at midnight of 31st December 1929 -1st January 1930 when the Tri-Color Flag was unfurled by the nationalists and a pledge taken that every year on 26th January, the 'Independence Day' would be celebrated and that the people would unceasingly strive for the establishment of a Sovereign Democratic Republic of India. The professed pledge was successfully redeemed on 26th January 1950, when the Constitution of India framed by the Constituent Assembly of India came into force, although the Independence from the British rule was achieved on 15th August 1947.
The Indian Constituent Assembly met on December 9, 1946. The Assembly appointed a number of committees to report on the various aspects of the proposed constitution. The Indian Constitution was finalized with 395 Articles and eight Schedules, and was adopted by the Constituent Assembly on November 26, 1949. The Indian Republic officially came into being on January 26, 1950. January 26 was not some random date picked out of the calendar. It was on this date in 1927, that the Indian National Congress, then fighting its non-violent war for freedom, voted for complete independence as against 'dominion status'. It was the date when members of the INC took the pledge to work towards a 'sovereign democratic republic' of India. After the Constitution was written and adopted on November 1949, 26 January 1950 the following year was chosen as the day when India would finally arrive as a nation, complete with the lengthiest and the most detailed constitution in the world. Since than Republic day is celebrated all over the country. It was on 26th January 1950 that India became a nation in the true sense, with a constitution and elected representatives of the people.

Manchu Manoj's 'Bindaas' on February 15
Manchu Manoj-starrer Bindaas is finally releasing on February 15. The film was slated for a December first week release, but it was indefinite postponement owing to a host of reasons. First, Manoj's brother's film Saleem bombed at the box office, when in a span of less than a week, the film was boycotted in Telangana.
As the tempers against Mohan Babu and his family ran high in the region, Bindaas was halted, it seemed. The film is releasing finally. Hope that it does not have to face any blockades and has a smooth release in the state.
Directed by Veeru Potla, this is the story of one Ajay, who leads the life without a care in the world. In a game-changing decision, he decides to take a thing as a challenge and sets forth to accomplish it.
We have seen many films coming with a cliched idea like this in the past, but it is to be seen if this one scores with a different screenplay and treatment. It is to be remembered that Manoj's last films 'Nenu Meeku Telusa' and 'Prayanam' werebox office hits. The actor is also shooting for the multi-starrer 'Vedam'.
Parachuri Venkateswara Rao, Kashi Vishwanath, Ahuthi Prasad, Vijay Kumar and Sunil are the other important cast.

Parachuri Venkateswara Rao, Kashi Vishwanath, Ahuthi Prasad, Vijay Kumar and Sunil are the other important cast.
17 Year old Girl has 7 Kids
This is really outrageous.
Argentine teenager Pamela Villarruel poses with her seven children outside her parents' home in the town of Leones in Cordoba Province, northern Argentina, May 11, 2008. (Pics courtesy: AP)
Pamela, 17, bore all seven children in just three pregnancies, having her first boy in 2005 when she was 14 and the other six girls in two deliveries of triplets in the following two years.
Pamela and her children currently sleep in the living room of her mother Magdalena who supports them all by house cleaning.
The father of Pamela's first son abandoned them, the father of the first set of triplets was forced out of the house by the family for beating her, and Pamela refuses to identify the father of the more recent triplets.
Magdalena requested to have her daughter's fallopian tubes tied to avoid any further pregnancies, but was denied as Argentine law prohibits the procedure to be done on minors.

Cherished every single moment. Though at times she may not be the best of friends, may not agree to our thoughts, she will be there for you...to listen to your woes, your bragging, your frustrations, etc. Ask yourself. Have you put aside enough time for her, to listen to her”blues" of working in the kitchen, her tiredness??? Be tactful, loving and still show her due respect though you may have a different view from her.

Yes, I’m getting married in Europe: Adnan Sami

Pakistani singer Adnan Sami, who has his base here, admits that he is tying the knot for the third time — this time with Roya Faryabi, qualified engineer in Munich, in Europe Jan 31.
“Allmy family members and all of Roya’s family are going to be at the wedding. I’d like all my friends from Mumbai to accompany me to Europe for the wedding. Unfortunately, there’s no time for them to make travel arrangements. So I’ll have a large wedding reception in Mumbai as soon as Roya and I return after the wedding,” Adnan said.
At the moment, Jermaine Jackson and hiswife are on the guest list.
Talking about his second wife Sabah Galadari, he said: “According to Islamicmarriage laws, she was technically never my wife at all. Even if she was, my religion permits me to have three wives.”
“I was going through the worst phase of my life when I met Roya. I lost my grandfather, then my father. She held my hand during my darkest hours while I was fighting the ugliest court battle with my former wife.”
“Roya is very family-oriented. More than the fact that she loves me, I love her for understanding the importance of family ties. Roya respects my mother. This is something I didn’t have in my earlier marriage.”
Most important of all, Adnan’s son Azaan gets along like a house of fire with his new stepmom-to-be.
“The most important criteria for me in anywoman is that she has to get along with my son. While Sabah couldn’t get along with Azaan, Roya loves my boy. In fact, they are best friends and I’m often the brunt of their jokes.”
Happiness has come to Adnan at a time when he had hit rock bottom on a personal level.
“I wouldn’t say Roya came into my life suddenly. We got to know each other gradually. After having gone through what I have, I was in no mood to jump into a new relationship. But it didn’t take me long to realise she was the woman I wanted to spend the rest of my life with.”
Roya will move to Mumbai with Adnan right after the wedding.
“She is a qualified engineer in Munich and works in thecommunication services. The organization has branches all over the world. They’re looking at opening a branch in Mumbai now that Roya is shifting to the city,” said Adnan who wants his wife to continue working after marriage.
“Isn’t it enough sacrifice that she’s leaving her family behind to join me in Mumbai? I don’t want her to give up her career,” he said.

Prince Mahesh Babu may be a rare one to be seen on the silver screen but whenever he comes, he creates a bang. That seems to be the case right now since Mahesh has been off the hook since two years. However, he has been roped in for one of the most prestigious and patriotic projects.
This is the famous song ‘Mile Sur Mera Tumhara…’ that came 20 years ago and advocated National Integration. Now, the same song is being shot and sources say that from Andhra Pradesh, it is going to be Mahesh leading the song. He would also be accompanied by badminton players Gopichand and Saina Nehwal.
The young star has also been busy with the shooting of hisnew movie under the direction of Trivikram Srinivas. More than that, all are waiting to see how Mahesh would be seen in the National Integration song and this would indeed project him at a broader level though the cause is noble.

Shriya Saran’s Nude Pic’s In Circulation

Her name is enough to create a tsunami in the hearts of many men and her looks are sufficient to shake the trousers of all and create an earthquake. She is none other than Shriya and right now, she is the hot topic of discussion for a rather kinky but unfortunate reason.
Apparently, grapevine says that while posing for a film magazine cover page draped in a bathtowel, Shriya’s towel dropped down and the photos clicked. Though measures were immediately taken to censor all those, somehow they got leaked and right now, the nude pictures are said to be making hot circulations.
Those who have seen the stills say that Shriya is looking no less than a sex goddess and with her sculpted body and silky skin, she has raised the mercury levels to an alarming level. The nude photos are said to be in major circulation through the internet but there are those who quash these stills as morphed creations.

Film piracy has undoubtedly become one of the biggest threats to the film industry. Gone are the days when a bad camera print used to sold in the video rental shops or on the streets, the pirates have got into new avenues to distribute the illegal copies of the films. The internet is proving to be the El-Dorado for pirates and they are all going berserk on the internet to excavate this gold mine. A recent report submitted FICCI suggests that the Indian film industry is losing more than $4 Billion dollars a year to piracy and more than 8,00,000 jobs along with it. The emergence of video sharing sites like Youtube, Dailymotion, Metacafe and other P2P, File Sharing sites have become the new tools of online piracy. A recent Tamil movie which was produced by Radhika Sarathkumar titled ‘Jaggubhai’ starring Sarath Kumar and Shriya was uploaded on theinternet days before its release. Now, another Hindi film, ‘Ab Tera Kya Hoga Jhonny’ which was directed by Sudhir Mishra has fallen prey to piracy. The film which was supposed to release in May this year, has been uploaded on the internet a full 4 months before its release. Interestingly the film was completed in 2007 and it was being screened in several film festivals across Asia. Although, the film makers and producers have got in touch with Google Inc, and Youtube to delete the film, the damage has already been done. It’s high time the people realize how downloading films from the internet or even watching films online is going to affect the film industry in general. With millions of dollars and rupees at stake, this is one major concern which has to be addressed immediately. Copyright infringement laws and Anti-Piracy laws have been strengthened further and more than film fraternity, Government, the onus of curbing piracy is on us, the people. Unless we stop watching films illegally, no law can curb this menace. Stop Piracy. It’s a crime.
Despite the fact that he has been getting the curse of many people and is being degraded at all possible times, the TRS head K Chandrasekhar Rao has been working his way in a strong way to achieve his objective - the dividing of the state into two pieces and becoming the first chief minister of Telangana. Now, inside sources say that the real reason for the success of his agenda happens to be this highly nefarious 'Kshudra Pooja' that he is getting done in the forests. The essence of this pooja is to ensure that success is achieved and the enemies and obstacles are cleared without a hitch. While many rationalists find this theory hard to buy, there are those staunch followers of KCR who were heard discussing about it during one of their 'drink' parties.
